What does the Webmaster Multi Tool Do? After a quick and easy download and installation, I got right into this easy-to-use program. It can do lots of things that are critical to the successful running of any on-line business. The full, registered version can:
One of the most powerful web site maintenance tools this program has, is its web site analyzer. It has three parts, the Link Analyzer, the Link Validator, and the Search Engine Preparedness test. The Link Popularity Tester is a handy tool, it will tell you how many pages link to you in the different search engines, and so how good your coverage is over a range of search engines. The Link Validator is supposed to spider your site, and make sure that all your links are working, and valid. I fed it a page on which I'd purposely put a dead link, but the validator didn't pick it up. I tried it on a larger site, and it picked up two. I think this particular function still needs the bugs ironed out of it... Despite that, the most useful part of this tool is the Search Engine Analyzer. This is a Search Engine Optimization tool that will tell you how your pages look to the search engines, and specifically, how well your Meta and Alt tags are holding up, as well a general shakedown on your HTML. At first I had trouble getting this to work. After much frustration, I figured out that the tool is not very forgiving about how you structure your Meta tags. Your "Meta", "Name", and "Content" parts MUST be capitalized, and you can't have spaces in between your "Name", "=" and "Content" parts. For example, the following would NOT be picked up as a Meta tag by the Search Engine Analyzer: <meta name = "keywords" content = "lifetime commissions, residual commissions, for life"> But this would be picked up as a valid Meta tag: <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="lifetime commissions, residual commissions, for life"> Once I'd figured this out, this function proved to be a thoroughly useful search engine optimization tool. It showed that some of my tags were too long, others too short, and also the keyword densities for each of my keywords. If you combined this with Planet Ocean Communications' reports on what keyword densities are performing in the Search Engines, you would definitely have an advantage in your search engine optimization. The Web Site Promoter The Webmaster Multi Tool shines as a master at web site promotion. It has many features to help you promote your web site, including features to submit to the search engines, FFA sites, award sites, as well as an e-mail list manager that enables you to send out many mails to your opt-in lists. The easy to use automated search engine submission service can submit to any or all of 25 of the biggest and most important search engines with the click of a button. A bonus is it will tell you which submissions succeed, and which didn't - not something most automated submission programs bother with. I also tried out the FFA submitter. It will submit an ad for you to 1921 FFA sites. Not bad, considering it takes nearly no effort. When it's submitting to the search engines or FFA sites, it takes a long time, so you may want to set it running when you go off for your lunch break. Also, the program doesn't update its window often, which means it can appear to have crashed, even though it hasn't. (This also happens when the Analyzer has to work on large sites, doing other tasks.) Internet Marketing Planner/Automater The Action Planner enables you to save common actions to disk, and load them up whenever you want, to make your promotion work even quicker. You can load multiple jobs and "queue" them, and you can also use the program's "To Do list" to help your organize your on-line business. The Enterprise Edition of Webmaster Multi Tool includes some features for the serious Internet marketers out there. With it you cam track many different ad campaigns, access statistics such as the number of impressions, click throughs, cost per visitor, ROI and more. This is really useful statistics for any Internet advertising campaign, as it enables you to focus your time and money on techniques that work. So is the Webmaster Multi Tool worth it? Like any bit of software this thing has its advantages and disadvantages. I think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages though. This tool is really useful, and I can easily see myself putting any new pages I write through this, to make sure they're as search engine optimized as possible. I use it, I like it, and you will too.
